Well, had the appointment -but am left feeling a bit under-whelmed. Of course none of my joints were red today. My right index finger has been swollen and sore for the last month. My doctor said this must be osteo as the top joint of the fingers doesn't get affected by RA. Is that really true? How can one particular joint not get inflamed when the rest do? Well I suppose she should know. She examined my range of movement, promised some physio for my shoulder and told me to take more paracetamol. She said my mtx dose is very low but she did't want to add anything else into the mix yet as my bloods are good. I confess I don't understand how my bloods always show minimum inflamation yet I get so stiff and the pain, which I admit isn't too bad , hops from joint to joint. It makes you feel a bit of a fraud really. In one way I am pleased not to need more drugs but part of me was hoping for some magic cure. I should know better. Now I wait to see the rheumy nurse in 6 months when I will have hand xrays to check for joint damage. I can also move from 2 weekly bloods to 4 weekly. ( She asked why I was still on 2 weekly -well, possibly because she told me to and had never changed it!!)

Hey ho
Sue

Hello Sue,

Glad you got your appointment even though you are a little mesmirized.

I know how you feel though on a previous post of mine, I was told
that my joints were not so inflammed as the DAS results were showing
and the blood tests. I was confused and also felt like a fraud. . .

Grin and bear and keep taking tablets and I hope things do get easier
for you

Rose
